PIZZA! PIZZA!

On Thursday, we were using our fresh ingredients to make some pizza. All summer we have been waiting to have enough ingredients and the time finally came.  We spent the class writing recipes using new vocabulary.

The students learned the structure of a recipe and different types of measurement.  After writing the recipe, they gathered all their ingredients from the garden.  Together they made their pizza.  After the pizzas were made, we shared with all the students and tutors!

Veggie Pizza by Nyam, Jesus, and Danilo

Ingredients:
  • 1 Pizza Crust
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • 4 oz. tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup tomatoes, diced
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion, diced
  • 1/3 cup green onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup green bell pepper, diced
  • 1/4 cup chili pepper, diced
  • 2 cups of mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 Tbsp parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 Tbsp oregano
  • 1/2 Tbsp basil
  • 1/2 Tbsp Italian Seasoning
Directions:
  1. Spread the butter on the pizza crust.
  2. Spread the tomato sauce on the pizza crust.
  3. Put 1 cup of Mozzarella cheese.
  4. Put all the vegetables on the pizza.
  5. Put parmesan cheese on the pizza.
  6.  Put basil on the pizza.
  7. Put oregano on the pizza.
  8. Put Italian Seasoning on the pizza.
  9. Put 1 cup of mozzarella cheese on the pizza.
  10. Bake at 425F for 12-15 minutes.

Ingredients:
  • 1 Pizza crust
  • 2 TBS Butter
  • 1/4 cup Tomato Sauce
  • 2 Cups Mozzarella Cheese, Shredded
  • 1 tsp. Oregano
  • 1 tsp. Basil
  • 1 Cup Tomatoes (10 small tomatoes chopped in 4 slices)
  • 1 small green bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 leeks, diced
  • 1 chili pepper, diced
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp. rosemary, diced
  • 1 tsp. parsley, diced
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
Directions:
  1. Spread butter on the crust, then spread the tomato sauce. 
  2. Put 1 cup of the Mozzarella cheese on.
  3. Put green peppers on evenly in a circle.
  4. Put on the parsley, rosemary, and leeks.
  5. Put chili peppers on .
  6. Put onions on.
  7. Put tomatoes on.
  8. Finally, put remaining shredded mozzarella cheese to cover ingredients.  Add to taste Italian seasoning, parmesan cheese, basil, and oregano. 
  9. Bake at 425F for 12-15 minutes.
